2010 Tiger
“As 2010 will be the year of the tiger in the Chinese zodiac so I thought I’d give my own rendition on the theme. I have not used traditional colour because I love to experiment and being in the creative field, its my duty to stray from the norm. This was also an experimentation to see if I could successfully apply my given style to an animal rather than concentrate on human faces”.

“I am a 24 year old illustrator based in Sheffield in the UK, I graduated from the Manchester school of art in 2008. I have spent since then developing my style which takes inspiration from ancient Egyptian culture, shape experimentation, symmetry, urban culture and texture to create my own unique style that can be applied to a whole spectrum of projects and commissions. My most recent commissions have been from the editorial sector for WIRED magazine and Digital Arts magazine” – Jonny Wan

Russian Doll

“This illustration focuses on shape experimentation and looking into relating the overall image to the relevant aesthetic rather than just creating shapes for the sake of it. It is a personal piece and I will be experimenting more with the Russian doll format in future illustrations”.

Nang

“Nang” in England is slang for “good” and often used heavily within the urban culture scene in London, again experimenting with different ways of drawing different races and manipulating shapes to for more organic features. I draw heavily from the street culture and it is with that influence I produce my best work”.
