VISUAL ARTS PROGRAM 

Curated by artist and Creative Director Pete Keen, the Sugar Mountain visual arts program will feature a select group of forward-thinking, contemporary artists from near and abroad.

Complementing the Sugar Mountain Festival, held at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne on Saturday 14 January 2012, will also be eight inspiring satellite events – spanning film screenings, exhibitions and art installations.

In 2012, the visual arts program taps into the aesthetic epicentre of cross-disciplinary mediums, with the vision to weave visual art, new media, dance, film, and music, finding the common thread that ties these creative forms. Sugar Mountain is looking at the union and juxtaposition of organic and mechanical process in artistic methodology. The selected local and international artists will exhibit a positive integration of old and modern methods of art-making.
