MARINA ABRAMOVIC: THE ARTIST IS PRESENT follows the artist as she prepares for what may be the most important moment of her life: a major new retrospective of her work, taking place at The Museum of Modern Art. To be given a retrospective at one of the world’s premier museums is the most exhilarating sort of milestone. For Marina, it is far more: it is the chance to finally silence the question she has been hearing over and over again for four decades: “But why is this art?”

Monet’s Garden: The Musée Marmottan Monet, Paris will feature more than sixty works devoted to Claude Monet’s iconic garden at Giverny.

The exhibition traces the evolution of these garden motifs over a period of twenty years, revealing the transition of Monet’s purely Impressionist style to the more personal pictorial idiom that he adopted in later life.

NGV Director, Tony Ellwood, said the exhibition would feature Monet’s most well-known works, from a stunning suite of enormous waterlilies paintings to his iconic garden motifs, as well as some rarely seen late paintings.

Archway Studios is a prototype live‐workspace designed by Undercurrent Architects, which utilises the space in and around a 19th Century rail viaduct in London. Undercurrent Architects aims to adapt these structures, which dominate areas of London, and divide neighbourhoods, by creating a space which has worked with the challenges of its tight surroundings: with the constraints of an inner‐city, industrial site and one which also engages its surroundings.

As one of 10,000 arches that dissect neighbourhoods across London, it is a model that can be adapted for broad community benefit and regeneration.
