Kilmeny Niland works from a studio overlooking one of Sydney’s most picturesque green bays where cockatoos swoop over cabbage tree palms in occasional aerial displays. The location of the studio often changes but not her desk which supports all that is familiar in an organised clutter. Last year, the desk held the weight of artwork for four new books plus several paintings and drawings.
